NSW Pink Slips in East Maitland
and Thorton
An eSafety check (or pink slip as it is commonly known) is required for all light vehicles more than five years old for the purposes of registration renewal within NSW. This is a safety inspection report that proves your car is roadworthy.

We also provide reliable blue slips in the Maitland
and Thornton area
A blue slip inspection is a safety check for light vehicles that are currently unregistered. If you want to register your car in NSW, you must obtain a blue slip first by getting a car inspection before registration.
Blue and pink slip inspections made easy
eSafety inspections are performed at both of our East Maitland and Thornton locations as they are authorised inspection stations. Your pink or blue slip inspection results are electronically lodged with the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) by us making things even easier and smoother for you!
Areas for a registration inspection include but are not limited to:
- Tyre quality and tread depth
- Vehicle body condition
- Working electrics such as headlights, blinkers, interior lights and dash lights
- Engine/suspension/exhaust and driveline condition
- Seatbelt condition
- Engine and driveline fluid leaks
- Brake efficiency test
The reasons why annual rego inspections exist is to assess if a vehicle is roadworthy which in turn affects passenger safety and the safety of others on the road.
Get your car inspection before your registration expires
Bear in mind that you don’t necessarily have to wait until your current registration has nearly expired, as an eSafety check (pink slip) may be undertaken anywhere up to six months prior to the registration expiration date.
If you book your pink slip inspection with plenty of time, it allows us to make any recommendations or repairs before your registration actually expires. We want to make your life as stress free as possible!
