Get Your Clutch Repaired or Replaced in Our Maitland and Thornton Workshops
How do you know it’s time for a clutch replacement or if it needs repair?
A clutch is made up mostly of two metal plates in the engine. When you step on the clutch pedal, these plates are disengaged from your revolving wheels, allowing you to change gears. The hydraulic mechanism, which transmits motion to the wheels, is operated by stepping off the clutch pedal, creating pressure.
The flywheel is a component in your clutch system that is responsible for a large number of clutch repair or replacement concerns. It usually cracks or burns due to extreme overheating caused by slippage or grease contamination. Your clutch will also wear out if you rest your foot on the clutch pedal.

Clutch Release Failure
When a clutch does not release when fully depressed, the input shaft it controls turns. This prohibits the driver from shifting into the needed gears, including neutral. Clutch release failure can be caused by a variety of internal factors, including:
- Damaged release cables
- Defective clutch cylinders
- Worn fork or pivot ball
- Damaged drive straps
- Damaged clutch discs
- Damaged splines
- Improperly installed clutch system parts
When dealing with the clutch, slipping is probably the most typical problem. Driving in locations that need many stops and starts might increase it, but it can also develop due to poor shifting habits such as using too much force to change gears.
